3.1 Hardware

Keyboards

Keyboards are the best way to impliment text on to the computer. A Keyboard is an input device.
A keyboard is made up of 80-110 different key's from a range of

  • A numeric keypad
  • Function keys
  • Control keys
The strang layout of the keyboard dates back to the earliest typewrites the letter placamento was chosen to reduce typing speed, making it less likely to make the keys tangle within one an other.The QWERTY keyboard became standard equipment on typewriters and on almost all keyboards.

The keyboards that have the letters lined up in straight rows forces your wrists and arms to be held at unnatural angles, long hours of typing on these keyboards may produce medical problems which include repetitive- stress injuries eg tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Ergonomic keyboards place the keys at angles which are easier on your arms and wristis without changing the original QWERTY keyboard layout.Keyboards send its signals through a cable of somesort, wireless keyboards usa a radio technology calles Bluetooth.Keyboards are also used on smaller devices like phones, screens ect. Touch screen keyboards react to pressusre or movement.
